SafeCom Tracking Overview

SafeCom Tracking provides a cost-effective method to accurately monitor print copy and scan activity on any associated device.

SafeCom Tracking is a feature that monitors all print, copy and scan activities of users with tracking enabled. For each job a comprehensive set of data is stored in the SafeCom Tracking database. Tracking monitors both Push Print queues as well as Pull-Printing.

Tracking information can be exported to XML or CSV. A basic summary of tracking information can be viewed through the SafeCom Data-Mining tool.

The Advanced Reporting component provides SafeCom administrators with a facility to generate sophisticated, parameterised reports including graphical representations of activity over time and drill-down functionality. Further information on Advanced Reporting can be found here.

SafeCom Tracking - in conjunction with a Charging Scheme attached to a device - also calculates and store the cost of  job.

SafeCom Charging Schemes

SafeCom Charging Schemes provide for the definition of costs for printing and copying.SafeCom Charging Scheme - Page 1 With SafeCom Go devices the charging scheme also determines the cost of scanning to email, folder and fax.

A Charging Scheme defines costs for print and copy use (A3, A4, A5, Executive, Letter, Legal and Other).  It also offers multiplier fields for both colour and duplex. In addition to that a price per job can be defined.

Costs per page + per job can also be defined for scan to email, folder and fax.

In a SafeCom Pay solution the Charging scheme determines the cost deducted from a pay user's account  for using a device.

Charging schemes can be linked to one or more devices.

A device can be associated with two charging schemes: The Primary Charging Scheme, which is used to charge pre-pay users or invoice tracking users / departments. The Secondary Charging Scheme can be used to reflect the true cost, as charged by the supplier (cost-per-page solutions).
