Rule-Based Printing Overview

SafeCom Rule-Based Printing allows you to implement printing policies to ensure the most effective and cost-efficient use of your printing fleet.

SafeCom Rule-Based Printing enables administrators to define both Push-Print as well as Pull-Print centric rules to enforce print policies across SafeCom printers.

Popular rule implementations are:

  • Prevent groups of users from printing in colour
  • Enforce Economy-mode printing to specific applications (e.g.: Email)
  • Prevent black and white printing on colour devices
  • Warn users of higher costs involved with colour printing

  • Device location contains ‘specific text’
  • Device model contains ‘specific text’
  • Device name contains ‘specific text’
  • Device supports colour
  • Job colour mode is [b/w | colour]
  • Job driver name contains ‘specific text’
  • Job name contains ‘specific text’
  • Job page count larger than ‘number’
  • Job page count less than ‘number’
  • Job size larger than ‘number’ KB
  • Job size less than ‘number’ KB
