SafeCom Go HP Overview
SafeCom Go HP is a software solution that
runs embedded on the HP device and users
interact with it through the MFP touch-screen
display and keypad.
Smaller print devices that
don't have a touch display and keypad require an
external authentication device and are best
operated in a Swipe-And-Release-All
mode.

SafeCom Go HP controls access to all the
MFP's functions and provided integration with
the HP Authentication Manager. SafeCom Go HP
requires one of the following license keys per
device:
- SafeCom Go HP (for MFPs)
- SafeCom Go HP High-End (for Edgelines)
- SafeCom P:Go HP (for printers)

SafeCom Go HP Specific Functionality
1. Tracking Data
Adjustment (Post Tracking)
Tracking Data
Adjustment adjusts the TrackingPageCount field to account
for the number of pages actually produced by the device. This can
fix tracking data incorrectly produced by the parser but also accounts
for user-cancelled or incomplete print-outs, due to paper jams,
etc.
2. Authentication using Card or Windows
This is a new authentication option,
which allows users to login using their card or their Windows credentials.
Alternatively, users can logon using Card or User Code.

Note:
Smaller HP LaserJet
printers only have a small, 4-line display and no actual keyboard.
It is therefore preferable to use the "Print all at Login" option
in combination with a card reader for authentication. This set-up
will result in all the user's documents being printed as soon as
they swipe in using their card - purely a secure print release solution.
The following models have a numeric keypad: LJ 4015,
LJ4515, CP6005, CP6015, LJ 9050 and CLJ9500.
If the user is to be given the choice
of printing or deleting individual documents it is preferable to
install an external controller and front-end solution.
SafeCom OnLDAP HP
Provides authentication
against LDAP compatible directory; requires card reader
and card numbers to be stored in the directory. This
solution does not require a SafeCom server and
cannot be combined with other device licenses.
